ترجمه "گفتگو در باغ" کتابی مفید و جالب در درجه اول برای مترجم ها و سپس برای علاقه مندان به ادبیات در ترجمه می باشد. این کتاب همانند رمان است. به عقیده فرانکلین لوییس از دانشگاه اموری و نویسنده کتاب "رومی"، در گذشته و حال، در شرق و غرب، ترجمه متن ادبی از زبانی به زبان دیگر شکلی از هنر است که همانند رسانه ای عمل می کند که خواننده را از فرهنگی به فرهنگی دیگر می برد. برای مترجم، ترجمه این نوع متن مانند تجربه نزدیکی است که حتی برای نویسنده آن هم غیر قابل دسترسی بوده است. همان طور که آقای قانون پرور در این کتاب می گوید "هر ترجمه به ناچار شکستی است که لحظه هایی از پیروزی را در خود دارد". در ترجمه "گفتگو در باغ"، قانون پرور به خواننده ها اجازه می دهد که او را در حین ترجمه گفتگو در باغ شاهرخ مسکوب از فارسی به انگلیسی، مشاهده کنند. این اثر فیلسوفانه کوتاه از محاوره بین یک نویسنده و یک نقاش استفاده می کند تا مفاهیم پارسی از هنر، ادبیات، طبیعت، هویت و روحانیت را نشان دهد.
